What’s up guys? I hope everyone is doing well and hitting the gym harder than ever before.
Upon returning from a much-needed trip to the mountains I was reminded that conditions aren’t always ideal for things that we set out to do. But when you don’t give yourself that option to pack up and go home, sometimes those conditions yield the best rewards!
I wrote an article about 5 years ago that I called “The Campfire of Life” and I was reminded of that article after last weekend. I’ve decided to read it again on the podcast for the ones who haven’t read it, and maybe hearing it will remind you of what it takes to overcome some obstacles that may get in your way.

Hey man,
Just wanted to thank you for the countless hours of information you’ve provided through this blog and podcast. The campfire of life hit home hard. I’ve been in the oilfield from the time I was 17. My girlfriend, wife now, got pregnant right of out high school. I let myself go through my 20s pretty bad and hit 345. During Covid I finally took that long hard look in the mirror and decided it was time to change. We work 14 days straight and most of those days are 14 hours on the short side. Even with these hours I still manage to get my ass in the gym 6 days a week. It has turned into an obsession to say the least. Through dedication I cut down to 245 and have bulked back up to a solid 270. While I still have lots of work to do to achieve the body I want I kept that fire lit. You are truly an inspiration and inspire me to push even harder. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks so much for your message, keep kicking ass! -JD
