Testosterone, the Red-Headed Stepchild of Vitality (RANT)

You know, the world we live in nowadays is fucked up enough, but now men are being shamed for displaying any masculine traits at all, and I'm flat out sick and tired of it! Testosterone is looked at as an enemy.

Have you ever heard some dumb bitch say “OMG, there is way too much testosterone in here!” You're damn right bitch, TESTOSTERONE… it separates the men from the boys, it shows who is king of the jungle in the animal kingdom, and it can show who is king of the jungle with people too.

But it's shamed now. Men who don't display that “over-emotional/ borderline gay/24-7 titty-sucking” personality are outcast from what society deems as “NORMAL.” Now we have a world full of men who act like straight pansies, and what's even worse is most of them don't know how to fix it. Even if they had testosterone they are so fucking brainwashed from society and media bullshit, they couldn't live a normal life if they tried.

But men who are full of testosterone and display these masculine traits are labeled as the ones with the problem… the outcasts. Well it'll be a cold fucking day in hell before I go out there and try my best to fit into a society that has lost any values that I myself hold up as worthy and rewarding.

One thing I don't understand is this misconception between aging women and aging men. When a woman gets into her late 40's she goes through menopause, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is everywhere for women! It's like the first thing doctors talk about when women go through this, there are very few hoops to jump through insurance wise, and it's about as easy as going to the bakery to buy as loaf of fucking bread. But what about men? Oh NOOOOOOO, fuck no, not the dreaded TESTOSTERONE!

Every single guy who approaches me for advice who is over the age of 30 gets the same answer from me when it pertains to exercise and fat loss; “Go see your doctor and get a hormone count, then we can talk.” Now to an ignorant SOB what that just translated into is “I'm on chemicals myself so that is why I look this way” and they immediately chalk it up as this evil world full of drugs and needles and whatever other stigma goes with it. I mean come on now, God forbid someone sticks a needle in his body to feel/look better 24/7, and in most cases be healthier when it pertains to low testosterone! I mean a shot once/wk is worth feeling/looking incredible right?

Well friends, I'm here to kick you the truth at johndoebodybuilding.com, I hold nothing back. I've been on testosterone on and off for the past 14 years, the past 6 years on testosterone non-stop as hormone replacement. My body does not make it anymore, my level was 89 when I was tested (normal is 300-900 ng/dl). I was in the dirt. Yes, self-induced.

But guess what? I could give a flying fuck, I feel great! I feel so great that unless I'm around someone else who is into fitness or nutrition/health, they seem like such a depressing asshole to me that I'd rather spend my time alone and motivate myself. It's pretty bad when you can motivate yourself more so than 90% of other people could ever do. Why are bodybuilders loners? Pretty easy answer to that, because “normal” people bring us down to fucking China town for dinner, with shit filled egg rolls for dessert!

I was in a doctors office a couple weeks ago, and this stupid, half-wit bitch of an assistant really sparked a nerve with me. This chick asks me “If you could go back to when you were 19 years old, would you have done anything different?” She is talking to me like I'm some sick person who tragically fucked his life up because he took testosterone. “Hell no. I wouldn't have done anything different. I feel great and I look great, and my sense of well being is incredible.”

As a matter of fact, I get blood work done 5 times a year and you tell me where my numbers are bad. All I could think was what a stupid ignorant bitch she was. Not to mention she was about 75 lbs overweight. I frequent the doctor for regular blood work and checkups because I'm one of the smart ones who makes sure I'm in check before I use anything or continue to use. I'm guessing she didn't see it that way. Just another dumb ass testosterone-filled buffoon in her office, I suppose. Now, do you think she would knock some woman on the HCG diet this way or a woman taking estrogen? I think not.

You cannot talk about something you've never done. A man who has never taken testosterone himself can preach to you until he is blue in the face, but he has never felt what I have. He doesn't know what its like to live with the glass half full instead of half empty, because he is so used to feeling like shit he doesn't even know what it's like to feel good anymore. But I do, I know exactly what it's like and it's great!

When I take my 4 year old son to the playground, I'm chasing after him and actually playing on the playground with him. Those other fat fuck parents are not doing that. They would rather sit on a bench and text message. It's so bad that their children want to play with my son and I, asking me to play tag or whatever other game they are playing.

If you're over the age of 30 and experience any of these symptoms, I urge you to go to a doctor and get a hormone count. Make sure they test your testosterone levels as well as free test levels. If you are not at least 300-400 (and for some even that is low), I'd strongly suggest hormone replacement.

This isn't some horrible thing to do. You're going to start feeling like you did 10 or 20 years ago, strong, vibrant, energetic, with a good libido to boot.

  1. I like the way you roll John Doe.
A lot of us men have been pushed down for so long we forgot how to be who we are, and that’s not some timid half a man that scared and stepping on egg shells all the time.

Keep the wisdom coming man, it’s refreshing!

    • I would go to the Dr. first and see exactly what you’re sitting at before doing anything. There are plenty of reasons people can be tired

  4. I’m on trt – 200mg/wk. On a couple of occasions I have taken it up to 400 and 500 mg/wk (all pharma test – Watson) for 10-12 weeks but have seen no significant increase in size and strength. Does this make any sense? I’m 47. Diet is good – taking in protein every 3 hours or so and I know what I’m doing in terms of training – been at it for over 30 years. Thanks for your time if you have any thoughts.

    • First thing you need to look at is caloric intake. Not just protein, but overall calories. If you aren’t gaining then you aren’t eating enough

      • Thanks. I will take a look at this. Are you of the opinion that testosterone plus other compounds (aas) is more effective than the equivalent amount of testosterone alone?

  5. Okay I am going to be honest,

I didn’t plan for my first cycle as BEST as I could. Left things for last minute and changed my original plan – was going to run Test P for 7 weeks pinning twice a week, after posting here I changed it to MWF. This is my first cycle, I got some serious good gains these last 4 weeks, especially when upping dosage from 0.5ml to 1ml.

I f****D UP badly. My guy let me down on bringing me a second vial of test prop – on week 4, was going to run it for 8 weeks. Anyways I have about 0.5 – 0.75 ml left of my test prop which I am pinning MWF, so one shot left for Monday, maybe.

The place I am on vacation doesn’t really have gym junkies BUT the pharmacies are quite leaniant.
    I managed to find some Test Cyprinate from a pharmacy – 100mg /ml for a 10ml vial.

I also found medical grade Test Sust from a pharmacy that they will sell to me over the counter but in 1 ml doses.
    Ratio is: Test P 20mg
    Test Phenyl: 40mg
    Test Isocpriate: 40mg
    Benzyl Alchol IP: 0.1ml
    Arachis Oil IP q.s.

So I have two options, considering this is only week 4 and I want to finish this cycle.

Option A – Buy the CYP and jump onto that from Monday. My last pin was yesterday for prop. Have maybe 0.5m – 0.75ml left. This is also the cheapest option as they are selling 10ml vials at around 60 dollars each. What dosage and how often should I run it? When should I run PCT – considering I have done 4 weeks of PROP.

Option A – Buy the sust and jump onto that from next week. If so what dosage would you recommend? Each 1ml vial is 10$.

Option C – Cut the cycle short, run some M-Stak and PCT.

This is my first cycle to.

    Any advice appreciated!

  6. Hey John Doe. I stumbled across your site yesterday and I love it!

I have been working out for about 4-5 years. When I started off I was really overweight and I have toned down to where I feel really confident. I have 13% body fat right now. I weigh about 175 and I am 5’10 (176 inches). I basically look like bodybuilders from the 40s and 50s if you google them which I am not really happy about.

I wanted to pack on some muscle and lean down to look better for the summer. Not a competitive physique model look but something like say a lot of the decent body actors in Hollywood. Is this cycle a good idea? How much should I take (I was thinking 200-300 mg)? Is this a good first cycle? What should I do to cycle off?

Also, I have a girlfriend and she would kill me if I were unable to stop shooting loads even for a bit. Does testosterone have that effect on me. Thanks!

    • Relax man, you aren’t going to stop shooting loads. I’ve been using gear for the better part of 15 years and I have no issues. Test will make you a maniac and she’ll probably enjoy your cycle because you’ll be tearing it up left and right. At 175 lbs just hit my 1 vial test cycle, I gained over 20 lbs off that my first cycle. The definition is all in the diet, eat less than you burn and the gear will help preserve muscle. Eat more than you burn and the gear will help you grow

      • Thank you. If you don’t mind I have a followup question. My goal body is to look really lean – like A&F model lean. I was wondering if a test cycle was the right thing for me as I have always been really muscular no matter my diet (I have always had developed traps and pectorals). It is just that I want to lose the extra fat and tighten up my body. Should I run a clen cycle instead? Thank you very much and sorry for bothering you.

        • it’s all diet dude, you don’t need to juice your mind out for an A&F look. Yes, test will help preserve muscle in a diet, but there is nothing about it that is going to get you noticeably more defined without a very disciplined diet. I would only go the clen route if it was the last 4-6 wks before a photo shoot, clen can be hard on the heart

  7. Great thoughts. I’m 41 and I’ve been on TRT for 4 years now and feel awesome. I was way low at 175 and felt lethargic, unmotivated, and stagnant in the gym. I also do shift work, which kills your hormones. I’m currently taking 200mg cypionate every week. My free testosterone levels at my last blood check was a whopping 1163! I feel strong, energetic, fuckin horny, and aggressive. Back to my alpha male self.

  8. Hey John,

So I finished a test/dbol cycle. My first cycle. For pct I did clomid and Nolvadex for four weeks two weeks after last shot to get test out of my system….my question is, I went and got blood work yesterday and my natural test levels are LOW now. Is that normal? Do they need time to readjust and if so approx how long? I was only doing 500mg a week of test e. I also got really fat, belly fat, after this cycle….but I also stopped lifting for a month now. Is all this normal? Concerned about lower test right now

  9. I just got my blood test back and my TT is at 339 ng/dl.

Doctor is a quack and says nothing is wrong with me.

Even my family is living in some fantasy land where they think I’m “PERFECTLY FINE.”

I’ve tried tons of different places and can’t get prescribed TRT. Even though I’ve accepted injecting it weekly for life as a reality.

I’ve been going to the gym 6 days a week doing my compound lifts for 4 months, eating clean, and no results, I still look the same.

I just don’t know where to turn to get doctor prescribed Testosterone.

If you have any idea how I can find a doctor that isn’t an idiot and get my life back on track with TRT, I would immensely appreciate it.

    Thanks.

    • Sam, my honest answer would be to run your own damn cycle, drive your test into the dirt, then 6-8 wks after you come off go to a Dr. who specializes in anti-aging or even an endocrinologist in the area who would be more likely to prescribe testosterone. 339 may be normal for one person and low for another. You need to go by the symptoms. If you’re sluggish, low sex drive, then chances are your levels are effecting you and you’d benefit from TRT
