Normal preps take anywhere from 12-20 weeks for most people; here we are going to do everything possible to get shredded in only 8 weeks!! This is for 2 reasons: it's to show you how much can be accomplished in 8 weeks if you stay consistent to the diet and training, and it's to create more intensity so you don't slack off, since you only have 8 weeks to prepare.
I also believe in creating a body that looks good year round.
It's not very realistic to walk around sub 10% body-fat all year long unless you're highly experienced and highly disciplined all year. It's a double edged sword though, because it becomes very difficult to build muscle when you're that lean and you can even go catabolic trying to remain that lean all year. I have found it's best to keep to that happy medium where you can go either way with fat loss or packing on new muscle.
I can be competition ready in as little as 6-8 weeks or I can slap on 10 lbs of quality mass in as little as 6-8 weeks (with minimal fat gain). At the end of 8 weeks of this transformation competition you may be in the same position. You'll be accustomed to the diet and training and hopefully be in a position where you can stay tighter all year and float to one side or the other a lot quicker!!
