What's up everybody?!
Today's video covers an advanced technique I created that I want to share with you.
But when I say advanced, I mean ADVANCED! This is a high intensity technique that gives a whole new meaning to “time under tension”!
I call this technique “The One Song Set” (AKA To Hell and Back!).
What we are going to do is pick a song and work the same muscle group for the entire duration of the song.
The first time I tried this was simply out of boredom. I just wanted to do something new.
I picked a song that was about five minutes and forty seconds long and let me tell you: it was five minutes and forty seconds of pure hell!!
But what I noticed was that I lost count of the reps! This can be a very good thing because lifters often put too much focus on hitting that magic rep count number they have in their head.
Every once in a while it's good to lose count of the reps and purely focus on doing the work with your muscles.
Plus going to the same rep count for every single workout gets boring after a while.
And if you are going for hypertrophy, it's not abnormal at all to hear about big guys going way out of the common rep ranges. I am talking about sets here that go to 20, 30, or even 40 reps!
It's not easy!
In the video you'll see that I am doing The One Song Set technique with biceps. A smaller muscle group like biceps is ideal for trying out this technique.
The video includes all my warm up sets, my work sets, everything!
And remember: if you get bored, switch up the exercise you're doing. Just keep working the SAME muscle group.
In the video I switch the exercises I'm doing but I keep working only my biceps for the entire song.
Pick your song and get to work!!
